When you’ve got a big cross-town league match coming up, it can be easy to look ahead and lose focus on the mission at hand: not so for the Wilson Bruins boys’ water polo team, who took care of business on the road at Capistrano Valley today.

The Bruins are ranked no. 3 in Division 2 CIF, and Capistrano Valley, while not ranked, is listed as “Also receiving votes,” which, coupled with their home pool advantage, meant they’d be a feisty foe.  But Wilson’s defense stepped up on Tuesday, shutting out their host 5-0 at halftime.  Capo Valley got a little more done in the second half, but Wilson won 9-7.

They’ll host Millikan at Belmont at 3pm on Thursday—if Wilson wins they’ll take the Moore League title, if they lose it will force a three-way tie between Wilson, Millikan, and Poly.  We’ll be there, and so should you!
