In another highly important league match, the Compton Tarbabes played rude host to the Millikan Rams, beating them 62-51.  The game was tied after the first quarter, but a Tarbabe surge in the second quarter led to an eleven-point lead at the half, which the Rams never managed to erase (they came as close as three points in the fourth).  Millikan’s Kierre Beverley put in 24 points as the game’s top scorer.

The loss raises Compton to 2-2, with losses to Jordan and Lakewood, and puts the Rams at 2-3, where they remain playoff contenders towards the tail end of the first half of league play.  Compton hosts Poly next Wednesday, and Millikan will take a few days off before visiting Jordan next Friday, in yet another crucial contest for the Rams.
