Everyone we’ve ever talked to who’s familiar with the inner workings of the once-great Belmont Plaza Pool warned us something like this could be on the horizon, but on Monday, the day before the pool was meant to host the first of a week-long slate of CIF prelim races, the pool…broke.

To be more specific, the pump system that acts as the facility’s veins broke, rendering it useless for at least a day, as workers try to correct the problem.  Tuesday’s schedule of Division IV prelim races has been moved to the Mills Aquatic Facility at Mt. SAC.  If the pump system is functional by Tuesday, the rest of Belmont’s scheduled races will go on as planned—if not, they’ll all be relocated, either to Mt. SAC or another location.

Stay tuned, we’ll keep you updated as we get more info.
