This weekend, Shore Aquatics hosts its second annual Beach Water Polo Challenge, a tournament where teams of water polo players, from high school age to adult, can take each other on—in the ocean!  It’s a lot of fun, and a totally unique event.  Registration has been extended until midnight of tonight, so if you’ve got a team, make sure to click here to sign up.

The premier event at this weekend’s challenge is a LB Fire Department vs. LB Police Department game on Saturday, at 5pm, which is really a can’t-miss.  These photos, taken by Andy Witherspoon, give a good idea of just how unique this event is—the officials are squatting boats, for one.  If you’re interested, visit the Beach Water Polo Challenge website and make sure to visit the games at Alamitos Bay this weekend.
