The Millikan Rams improved their record to a league-best 4-0 yesterday with an 18-0 shutout of the Compton Tarbabes. Third basemen Matt Clampitt pitched the complete game for the Rams, striking out ten and giving up just two hits. The shutout brings Millikan’s scoreless defensive start up to 28 innings, as they’ve still yet to allow a run in league play, four games in.
“It was another solid pitching performance,” said Millikan coach Scott Glasser, who says his team is pumped about the start to the season. We’ll see in the next few weeks how far confidence can carry the experience-heavy Rams—they close the first round of league play against Jordan and Lakewood.
