We’re awful at making predictions, so we decided to let the people who know Moore League baseball the best decide how the league will shake out this year. Baseball coaches being a savvy bunch, three coaches predicted ties (two predicting a tie for second, one predicting a tie at third). Since ties are not uncommon in the league (last year Lakewood and Poly tied for second at 8-4), we accepted the tie predictions, and assigned all teams tying at a certain placement the number of points that placement would hold (ie, if two teams tied for second, both received six points).
All coaches threw a grain of salt in with their predictions, and we’d encourage you to do the same. “I can’t pick against Lakewood right now,” said one coach. “But who would have put money on Millikan last year?”
So here it is, your 2010 Moore League Baseball Coaches’ Poll:
1: Lakewood- 48 points
2: Wilson- 44 points
T3: Millikan- 33 points
T3: Poly- 33 points
5: Cabrillo- 17 points
6: Jordan- 15 points
7: Compton- 10 points
