A ten-run first inning spurred Lakewood on to a 15-4 win over Cabrillo on the Lakewood campus field. The Lancers, adhering to a strict rotation as always, pitched Jeff Yamaguchi to start the first three innings, and he’d helped his team build a 12-0 lead by the time he yielded to the bullpen. Cabrillo put up two runs in the fourth, and one in each of the fifth and seventh. Louie Terrazas was 2-4 with a run for the Jags; Armondo Perez was 2-4 as well, and Wesley Madera was 2-2, with a BB and a HBP as well.
For Lakewood, Anthony Razo was 3-5 with two doubles and two RBI, Yamaguchi was 2-4 with a double and a triple and two RBI, and Tyler Schultz was 2-3 with a double. Tyler Leidholdt, J.P. Crawford, Jimmy Gosano, and Joseph Bernal also had a pair of hits each.
Lakewood improves to 2-1 in league, and will face 2-0 Compton on Friday; Cabrillo falls to 0-3 and will see Millikan before the Spring Break league hiatus.
