Thanks to an 11th place team finish at today’s Southern California Regional Championships in Bakersfield, the LBCC women’s cross country team will advance to the State Championships. The Vikings totaled 352 points to finish 11th out of 27 teams.
Freshman Jaasmin Pina led Long Beach with her 23rd place finish. She cleared the 5K course at the Kern County Soccer Park with a time of 18:53.94.

Glendale won the team championship with 68 points and Cassie Mitchell of Orange Coast was the individual winner with a time of 17:48.99. The California Community College Athletic Association Cross Country Championships are set for November 22 at Woodward Park in Fresno.
