Two days ago the Vikings’ men’s team was playing in the Fullerton Hornet’s Nest, and losing a tight contest by six.  It was a very different kind of game when the women’s team visited the Hornets last night, but the same result: an LBCC loss, this one by the score of 70-37.

Fullerton scored first and never trailed in the contest, outscoring the Vikings 33-16 in the first half.  The Hornets shot 54% on the night, to the Vikings’ 29.8%, and outrebounded LBCC 41-24.  Leaders for Fullerton were Renee Wood, Marlene Ouern, and Taiyande Huskey, who knocked in 10 points, 12, and 10 respectively.  The leader for LBCC was Monae Humphrey, who hit 11 points and was the only Viking in double digits.

The Vikings will next be in action on Saturday, when they’ll be hosting Canyons Community College at 5:30pm, in their home opener.
