There weren’t many tougher draws than 7-2 Compton having to travel to play the undefeated Sherman Oaks Notre Dame powerhouse, and there weren’t many tougher breaks than the injuries Compton sustained in the last few weeks to its two starting running backs, Curry Williams (high ankle sprain) and James McConico (concussion).  Unfortunately, that draw and those breaks led to another Compton first-round departure from the playoffs, as they were beaten soundly by Notre Dame, 42-0.

According to the Daily News, Compton held the game scoreless through the first, but Notre Dame’s offense exploded in the second, scoring four touchdowns on the Tarbabes, who were helpless to respond without the key components of their running game.

Notre Dame QB Ryan Kasdorf finished 13/18 for 234 yards and 4 TDs in the win.
