I can’t imagine it was an easy task to convince the Long Beach State Ice Hockey team to don pink jerseys for last Friday night’s game against USC—the fact that the jerseys were auctioned off to benefit Breast Cancers Awareness may have helped.  And looking back, I’m sure the whole team is glad they went through with is, as the auctioned jerseys raised $2,300 for the American Cancer Society.

On a down note, the 49ers did lose the game, by a score of 5-2 in front of over 400 fans.   Clay Perry scored on a shorthanded breakaway in the first period then Sean Hoang buried a one-timer in the second period. But the Trojans rallied to tie the score and ran away with three goals in the third.  The 49ers’ next home game is against Texas A&M set for January 8, 2009, which was originally scheduled for 1/16.
