Millikan’s athletic department has announced its Second Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction will be held at the end of March to help raise money for some scheduled improvements to their Howard Lyon Gymnasium. Last year the fundraiser brought the school over eleven thousand dollars, which went towards modernizing the venue’s electronic system and upgrading its floor and seating. This year, money raised at the dinner and through direct donations will help with a new sound system, varsity picture boards, additional trophy cases, and a new logo paint job. Chris Kinder and Gayle Braun, athletic directors at Millikan, hope these improvements will make the facility “one of the best in the city.”
The dinner will be held in the school cafeteria on March 31st, with tickets available for $8 at the event or in advance from the Millikan banker. Donations are also being accepted through the school’s website. For more information, contact Valerie Bradford, Millikan Banker, at (562) 425-7441 ext. 4124
