To further bring you the fan’s perspective, we’re going to start running the best heckle we overhear at every Long Beach State home men’s basketball game.  If the crowd gets creative, we’ll print several.  Of course, they have to be more or less family friendly…

The first time we ran this series, we posited that “Dionte Christmas” coming to the ‘Myd in late December would be the best heckling opportunity of the basketball season.  That, of course, was before we found out that some of the CSUN Matadors had a proclivity for the five-fingered discount.  Which, obviously, opened the door for some pretty obvious jeers at Saturday afternoon’s 49ers/Matadors contest.  Our favorites were two signs at the front of the student sections, as well as the handful of attendees (including our own Sergio Ascencio) who wore royal blue polo shirts to mimic Best Buy employees:
