Saturday night’s game against San Diego State will be the 49ers ice hockey team’s final home contest of the season. As if the 49er/Aztec rivalry isn’t exciting enough, the team has lined up some cool added entertainment.
The game is also fan appreciation night—all fans in attendance will get one free opportunity drawing ticket for a chance to win Beach Hockey & LA Kings merchandise, Jody Maroni’s, Frisco’s Car Hop, and Tommy’s food vouchers, 3-day pass to the Indulgence Day Spa and more. One lucky fan will get a chance to shoot a puck to win a pair of tickets to our Annual Alumni Game at the Honda Center Sunday April 5th. Ducks face the Sharks then the 49ers of Old square off against the 49ers of Now.
The team will also honor its graduating seniors playing their final home game in a 49er Jersey. Attendees can help bid the veterans farewell before they move on to the real world.
The 49ers are also announcing the new annual Chris Northy Memorial Spirit Award. In 2007, tragedy stunned the 49ers with the loss of teammate Chris Northy. They created the award to honor his positive attitude, energy, and spirit and on Saturday will be awarding it to a player from the 2008 season and the 2009 season.
If you’ve got used or new sunglasses or eyeglasses to donate to the Belmont Shores Lions Club, the team will be accepting them at the admissions table.
