If you subscribe to as many Long Beach sports email lists as we do, you’ve probably been getting notice of a good chunk of cancellations.  First, last week, the Long Beach State women’s tennis team had to wait to play their season opener against USC; now, the unveiling of the team’s brand new on-campus facilities (originally scheduled for Friday) are postponed until today at 3pm–although that’s pretty likely to be postponed as well, judging from the forecasts.

LBCC baseball and softball have had a few games each postponed, and if forecasters are right about the rain patterns for this Spring, we could see a lot of high school postponements.  The most tragic postponement yet, of course, is the delay of the Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival from today until 2/21–both because we love chocolate, and because I was looking forward to being a judge today.  Ah well!
We here at LBPostSports have just one question for you, weather gods–where was all this interesting precipitation when it was football season?
