Facing the Tritons for the third time this year, Long Beach State made it three-for-three, picking up an 8-6 win on the road in San Diego. The No. 16 49ers stormed back with four fourth quarter goals to grab the win.
The 49ers and Titans kept even through the first two periods, heading into halftime with a 3-3 score, but the Tritons outscored Long Beach State 3-1 in the third period to grab the edge. Long Beach State rebounded in the fourth period though, getting goals from Heather McKeon, Krizia Cerda, Meaghan Leonard and Lauren Sieprath to come away with the 8-6 victory.
Leonard led the 49ers with two goals, as Long Beach State had a balanced offensive effort with seven players scoring at least one goal for The Beach.
Long Beach State continues its road trip to San Diego tomorrow, facing No. 6 San Diego State at Noon.
