I don’t know how many times a sportswriter in this city has written the sentence, “The Wilson Bruins won yet another boys’ swimming league title,” but I’d bet it’s a lot. After all, the Bruins haven’t lost a league final match since 1971, since pre-Klaus—they weren’t particularly tested on Thursday at Belmont, not much of a surprise since they weren’t really tested all season in league.
Winning eight (of eleven) events, the Bruins stacked up 565 points, to Poly’s 406, Millikan’s 334, Lakewood’s 289, and Jordan’s 10.
The Moore League girls’ finals will be held at Belmont at 6pm Friday evening—if you’re looking to see a swim meet for the first time, we recommend this score sheet from the Wilson girls’ website!
