It was a rough home stand for the Armada—they went 1-5 (including four straight losses) to fall to 9-10 on the season, after last night’s 4-1 loss to the Edmonton Capitals. Jose Lima took the hill for the Armada and gave up four runs over seven innings of work with three strikeouts. Edmonton jumped out to the early 1-0 lead after a couple of hits by Darryl Brinkley and Norm Hutchins. From then on it was all Capitals. Back to back hits in the 3rd gave Edmonton another run and a Joey Gomes 2-run homerun made it 4-0 in the 6th inning.

The Armada tried to put together something together in the 8th when they got on the board with back to back doubles from Omar Bramasco and Casey Garrison. But it wasn’t enough as Edmonton completed the sweep and beat the fleet 4-1.

Long Beach committed at least one error in all six games during the home stand.  Their next game is on Friday on the road at Chico. The fleet returns home to Blair Field on June 26th.
