As the Associated Press put it, “The final round featured endless possibilities, except for the guys atop the leaderboard.”  Long Beach’s Paul Goydos went into the final day at The Barclays with a share of the lead—he shot a 75 to finish tied for ninth, while co-leader Steve Marino dropped all the way to fifteenth.

The day was highlighted by a wild finish at the top, with Heath Slocum besting Ernie Els, Tiger Woods, and Padraig Harrington.  For Goydos, the Sunday woes last another tournament—but he’s been in the hunt so often this season, he’s bound to break through.  Besides, even with the drop to ninth, Goydos still brings in $202,500 in earnings.  Not bad for a weekend’s work!
