The second annual Pyramid Run/Walk makes its return to campus, kicking off homecoming week in 2009 on Sunday, November 8. Registration for the run begins at 7 a.m., and the 5K race will start at 9 a.m.

Joining the runners in starting this year’s Homecoming festivities will be CSULB president F. King Alexander, who will be among the record amount of participants in this year’s race. All runners will enjoy the beautiful, park-like atmosphere of the university and benefit from the professional attributes the event will offer. Mile splits will be posted as well as the final race time through a partnership with Race Central and their chip timing system. Additionally, all runners will receive a technical t-shirt, great good bags, free parking, and the opportunity to run with a pacer.

The day will start at 7 a.m. with registration, followed by the 5K race at 9 a.m. The kid’s race will start at 10 a.m., and a full awards ceremony will begin at 10:20 a.m. Prize money will be awarded to the top three men’s and women’s finishers, as will $100 to the top male and female finishers in the Master’s (40+) class.

All proceeds from the race will benefit the track & field and cross country teams at Long Beach State. For more information, check out the official race website at www.pyramidrun.com.
