This year, the Wilson surf team is trying to do something they’ve never done—go undefeated.  Yes, they’ve won league six years in a row, but a perfect season has always remained just on the horizon.  The Bruins took a big step towards that goal with a narrow 76-68 win over a very good Vista team, out of Carlsbad.

Competing for the Bruins were seniors Devon Espinoza, Nick Kennedy, Trevor Lucca, Natalie Schutt, Scott Struett, Anika Taylor, & Joey Wangsness; juniors Casey Kalunian, Patrick Kaner, Zach Patterson, Kyle Purschell, Hall Roosevelt, Torey Tschudin,  & Kent Williams; and the lone sophomore, Brendan Hiruma.

We’ll keep you posted as Wilson tries to go for perfection, and win the school’s second surfing state championship.
