No. 13 Oklahoma used a six-run fourth inning to run away with a 10-0 win over Long Beach State (4-5) Sunday morning in the 49ers’ final game of the Louisville Slugger Desert Classic.

Keilani Ricketts held The Beach to one hit, tossing 5.0 scoreless innings for the Sooners.

Sophomore Taylor Petty was credited with the loss for LBSU, giving up three runs on five hits in 3.0 innings of work. Junior Liz Javier had Long Beach State’s lone hit.

Oklahoma (8-1) got on the board in the top of the first when Jessica Shults doubled home Amber Flores.

The 49ers threatened in the second, putting runners on the corners with two outs after Javier singled and Caitrin DeBaun walked, but Ricketts was able to get Bree Stephan to ground out to end the inning.

OU took a 3-0 lead in the third, scoring two runs on two hits. The Sooners then broke the game open in the fourth with a six-run rally, highlighted by a Shults grand slam. Shults finished the day going 3-for-3 with seven RBI.

Long Beach State returns to action next weekend when it heads to the Cathedral City Classic, Feb. 26-28. The 49ers open the tournament on Friday with a 6 p.m. showdown against No. 11/12 Stanford.
