Poly and LBCC aren’t the only local football teams who play at Vet’s—the Beach Cities All-Americans (a local pro-am squad) picked up a 20-15 win over the Ventura Badgers on Saturday.

The All-Americans fielded just 16 players, and were going against a larger team in the Badgers (both physically and on the roster).  The Badgers got on the board first after the All-Americans hiked a ball out o the end zone on a punt, then got a touchdown on a 65-yard reverse.  With a blocked PAT, the score was 8-0 Badgers.

Shane Dugas picked off the Badgers QB and took it back to the house, 73-yards, and a poor snap led to a blocked PAT, making it 8-6 at halftime.  The second half scoring opened with All-American QB Santos Gonzales hefting an 83-yard touchdown pass to George Davis, giving the team a 13-8 lead after Brian Noyes’ PAT.  They added another score when Jeff Scott picked up a Badgers fumble and returned it for a score.

Ventura added a touchdown on a play-action bomb, but the All-Americans D held on for the win.
