Senior Kenneth Medwood highlighted Saturday’s action at the Beach Invitational, which was held at Cerritos College, as he established a school and meet record in the 400-meter hurdles.

Medwood finished ahead of the pack, crossing the finish line in a blistering 50.37 seconds. Sam Jeter made it a one-two finish for The Beach as he ran a lifetime-best 51.26, which ranks him sixth in school history.

Medwood added a third-place showing in the long jump (23-10.25) and a sixth-place performance in the 200-meter dash (21.49). Both of those marks are season bests.

Tayler O’Connor led the 49er women as she matched her lifetime best in the high jump, clearing 5-08.75 to earn runner-up honors.

Long Beach State returns to action next weekend when it sends a split squad to the Drake Relays (April 22-24) and the UCSD Triton Invitational (April 23-24).
