Long Beach State finished with 12 hits, including three from senior Steve Tinoco, but only managed two runs in a 12-2 loss on Friday night. Coach Mike Weathers was ejected in the fifth inning after what an ump felt was an excessive amount of protest, adding insult to injury.

Noe Ramirez picked up the win for Cal State Fullerton, allowing one run over seven innings despite three walks and eight hits allowed over that time.

Long Beach State was its own worst enemy, however, allowing six unearned runs off of five errors on the night to contribute to the loss.

The action started in the first inning, as the Titans pushed across one unearned run the first inning, and then in the second, with two runners on, Christian Colon hit his 13th home run of the season to put Cal State Fullerton on top 4-0.

The Titans scored one more run in the third after a leadoff walk by Andrew Gagnon, and then broke the game open in the fifth inning. Richie Pedroza started off the inning with a single, and then back-to-back errors by the Dirtbags loaded the bases. The Titans followed that up with a single, a double and a single to score five runs, making the score 10-0.

Long Beach State got on the board in the late innings, with Jonathan Jones hitting two RBI singles to score Jordan Casas and Joey Terdoslavich.
