As it looks like today will be the latest of many consecutive days that reach at least the upper-70’s on the thermometer, summer has officially arrived (after a few June weeks of a stubborn sun). But actually, summer officially arrived last Sunday, June 21, the date of the Summer Solstice. The longest day of sunlight in the entire year, the Solstice occurs when the Earth is tilted most directly at the sun.
