4:45pm: Reports are just beginning to trickle in, as are photos from staff and readers, but what we know for sure is that several areas of the city have experienced heavy flooding. The 405 Freeway is heavily flooded and you can expect significant delays if you’re stuck on it. Try to stay off the roads if possible. Note: The campus of CSULB has been closed today and Thursday. LBCC is closed today but should be open tomorrow.

We’ve also received word that some residents had trouble obtaining sandbags as the City ran out sometime this morning. More were available as of 1:00pm today but those may have run out as well. We will keep you posted as we learn more.

4:45pm The photo below (with associated video above) was taken in four separate pictures today at I-405 and Cherry Avenue. The southbound lane of the I-405 under the Cherry Avenue overpass was a completely flooded.
