3:30pm | One of the biggest criticisms of the Long Beach Airport was that its terminal and other facilities needed drastic improvement and updating. With a video that includes digital renderings of the airport’s planned facelift, the airport shows off its future designs and improvements.

The video says that ground should break on the improvements by December of 2010 and full construction will begin in early 2011, creating over 300 jobs. Features include open views of the runway, full WiFi service and solar roof panels that will provide an estimated 13% of the building’s total power.
