After 41 years of association with the Grand Prix of Long Beach, Toyota reached a multi-year agreement today with the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach, the association announced today.
Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. Inc. and the Southern California Toyota Dealers Association will continue to host the Grand Prix, making Toyota’s sponsorship since 1980 the longest consecutive entitlement in professional sports, according to a release issued today.
“For the last four decades, Toyota has been proud of its affiliation with the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach,” said Dave Harbuck, corporate manager of motorsports and engagement marketing for Toyota in a statement. “This title sponsorship has provided Toyota with the opportunity to showcase great racing in a fun environment for the fans.”
Next year’s Toyota Grand Prix will take place April 15-17, the organization also announced.
