After 12 years at the Long Beach Multi‐Service Center for the Homeless (MSC), Children Today’s Play House West has moved to a new child care facility. Located inside of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Downtown Long Beach, the new Play House West is a beautiful space with lots of natural light and a verdant outdoor play area, making it a warm and welcoming place for children and families.
As a founding member of the Long Beach Continuum of Care Homeless Assistance Program (CoC), Children Today’s Play House West has historically been co‐located, along with other homeless service providers, inside the MSC – the access center for homeless services in Long Beach. This move marks an exciting new chapter for the agency.
“We are grateful to the City of Long Beach and the Department of Health & Human Services for hosting the Play House West for so many years,” said Dora Jacildo, Children Today’s Executive Director. “Our new facility is only a few minutes away from the MSC, so families will still be able to easily access our services and we’ll maintain the same dynamic collaborative relationship we’ve always had with our CoC partners.”
Children Today will host an Open House on Thursday, May 31 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm for invited guests who will have a chance to tour the facility and learn more about the program.
