10:20am | Thousands of runners and walkers will take to the bike paths along the coast of Long Beach to raise money for charity on Thanksgiving Day, in the 8th annual Long Beach Turkey Trot 5K/10K and Kids’ 1/2-mile Wingding tomorrow beginning at 7:00am.

The event is organized by community activist Justin Rudd and his Community Action Team (CAT), which expects to raise more than $150,000 in the event designed as “a pre-emptive strike against the holiday bulge!”

There are still spots available in the 7:00am walk, the 9:30am 5L/10K walk/run, the 10:30am 5K run/walk and the 9:40am and 9:45am 1/2-mile Wingdings (ages 8 and younger). For information about the event or participation call 562.439.3316 or visit turkeytrot.us.
