Two 16-year old boys will be charged as adults in the fatal shooting that took the life of Melody Ross – a 16-year old honor student at Wilson High School – and injured two adult males, the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office said today.
Tom Vinson of Bellflower, a former Wilson student, is implicated as the gunman and will be charged along with Daivion Davis of Long Beach as having committed a crime in order to further the efforts of a street gang. Both boys have been tied to large gangs operating within Long Beach.
A press release from the District Attorney’s office says that bail has been set at $3 million each, and that the boys could face life in prison if convicted on all counts. They will be arraigned today at the Long Beach Superior Court.
