The year has started off well for St. Anthony High School. Aside from increased enrollment, capital improvements and successes in fundraising, St. Anthony proudly welcomes 23 academic scholars into the 2007 Freshman class. These students place, minimally, in the top 2% of their 8th grade graduating class. Many happen to be that top student, making them one of the high school’s prestigious “President’s Scholars.”

Similar to the CSULB program, founded in 1995, that recruits California’s high school Valedictorians to study at the university, St. Anthony’s President’s Scholars Program recruits top students from local elementary schools in Long Beach. Access to St. Anthony’s college preparatory curriculum and 15:1 faculty to student ratio is made possible through the generosity of hundreds of alums, foundations, and community donors. The President’s Scholars Program was launched in 2005.

As the only faith-based, co-educational high school choice for students in Long Beach, St. Anthony prides itself on maintaining access and affordability to any student who qualifies for admission. Since its founding in 1920 in downtown Long Beach, caring faculty and staff have supported an environment conducive to learning and development of the whole child – focusing on education of the body, mind and spirit. The scholars listed below will be just a few students receiving this quality education this academic year.
