UPDATE: Click here to read about the Board’s decision.
Boardmembers of the Long Beach Redevelopment Agency will today decide whether or not to approve the demolition of the Atlantic Theatre, a North Long Beach landmark that may be torn down to make room for the proposed mixed residential/commercial North Village Center Project.
The board meeting is currently proceeding, and we will keep you updated as soon as we learn of the board’s decision.
A motion on today’s meeting agenda recommends the approval of the demolition “as the first component to implement the North Village Center Project.”
Last week, staging-live.lbpost.com columnist Greggory Moore wrote this piece and wondered whether demolition is really the best option for the 67-year old theatre.
