Following a connection between two in-custody suspects and a fraud ring that targeted Sam’s Club, the Long Beach Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying whom they believe to be three additional suspects involved in the ring.
The current suspects–43-year-old Ayesha Wilson of Long Beach, and 34-year-old Nanette Macon of Adelanto–were arrested on unrelated charges before their images were connected to 39 identity theft incidents at the Sam’s Club located at 7480 E. Carson Street. 21 of those counts are filed against Wilson while 18 counts were filed against Macon.
As the investigation continued after pairing with Walmart Global Investigations, the parent company of Sam’s Club, three more suspects were determined to be involved in at least 10 more cases of identity theft.
The suspects established credit accounts using information they stole from various victims, most of who are from out-of-state. Using the credit, they would purchase multiple items including gift cards and electronics, such as tablets and computers.
“Detectives have not been able to identify the three outstanding suspects by name, but they believe they are located in the Los Angeles County area and are hoping someone may recognize them in photos taken at Sam’s Club at the time they established accounts,” LBPD said in a release.
Anyone who may information on the identities of these suspects is asked to call Long Beach Police Identity Theft Detective Andre Sanchez at 562-570-7602. Anonymous tips may be submitted by calling 800-222-TIPS (8477), texting TIPLA plus your tip to CRIMES (274637), or visiting www.lacrimestoppers.org.
