A man was hospitalized Tuesday night after being shot in the Willmore neighborhood north of Downtown, police said.

Around 10:11 p.m. last night, Long Beach police were dispatched to the intersection of Eighth Street and Cedar Avenue regarding reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they found the man with a gunshot wound to his lower body.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel transported the man to a local hospital. His injury wasn’t life-threatening, according to police.

No suspect information was available as they fled before the officers arrived, but the investigation is ongoing, police said.
