Long Beach Mayor Bob Foster will present his fourth State of the City address tonight, the final such speech of his first term as the city’s top politician before he goes up for reelection this April.
After a tumultuous year for the city in 2009, Foster is expected to address issues such as the effect that the global economy has had on Long Beach, Federal stimulus dollars that have been awarded to the city, the past year’s accomplishments and much more.
More than 1,700 people are expected to attend the speech at the Terrace Theater in the Long Beach Convention Center downtown. It will begin at 7:00pm.
The event is free to the public but is sold out, according to the Mayor’s website. Click here to submit your name for the wait list. This is the second consecutive year that the State of the City has been open to the public at no charge.
