3:03am | A 28-year old man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting three minors while he worked for the City of Long Beach, according to a statement released today by the Long Beach Human Resources Department. Rudy Jonathon Rivera could face as many as 29 charges, 17 of them felonies.

Rivera was hired in 2002 and served as a Community Services supervisor with the Department of Parks, Recreation and Marine. The incident surfaced in March 2010 and the City suspended Rivera without pay during the police investigation, eventually terminating him.

The alleged incident occurred while Rivera was supervising the victim at Admiral Kidd Park. A City employee reported that Rivera had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor, and a Police investigation identified two more victims.

Rivera did not have a criminal record at the time of his hiring.

Much more to come…
