3:15pm | The Long Beach Democratic Club held a meeting where it offered its list of endorsements for currently running candidates.

  • In the race for the 2nd District on the Long Beach City Council, Vice-Mayor Suja Lowenthal received a unanimous endorsement in her campaign for re-election.  
  • In the 4th District, Patrick O’Donnell received a unanimous endorsement for his third term write-in candidacy.
  • In the race for the open 8th Council District seat, candidate Al Austin received a majority of support at 52% over candidate Lillian Kawasaki, but no candidate reached the 60% support threshold, therefore no endorsement was made in that race.
  • In the race for Long Beach Unified School District, Area 2, incumbent Felton Williams came out on top, with 54% over challenger Ricardo Linarez, but no candidate reached the 60% support threshold, therefore no endorsement was made in that race.
  • In the race for Long Beach Community College District Area 4, incumbent Doug Otto received a unanimous endorsement on his re-election.
  • Lastly, in the in the race for Los Angeles County District Attorney, candidate Danette Meyers came out on top with 48% over Mario Trujillo 46%, Jackey Lacey 4% and Carmen Trutanich 2%.
