You read that right: buy some tickets to Six Flags and you’ll help fund The LGBTQ Center in Long Beach.

Screen Shot 2014-09-17 at 2.48.41 PMEach year, thousands of people from SoCal descend onto the roller coaster capitol to support LGBTQ organizations and charities. (Sporting six-pack abs with barely-nothing-there costumed interpretation of comic characters not required to attend.) This year, September 19 marks the official date for the Out on the Mountain celebration, spanning the early evening hours and into the early morning on September 20.

“We partner every year with Out on the Mountain to sell tickets for The Center at The Center,” said Porter Gilberg, Executive Director of The Center. “David and the entire Out on the Mountain team are incredibly community-oriented and donate a portion of all ticket sales through us back to The Center. Additionally, we are afforded the opportunity to both table and display Center information at the event.”

Beyond the spectacular array of roller coasters, guests can enjoy the company of Martha Wash (of the famed gay anthem “It’s Raining Men”), drag queen staple Laganja Estranja, and DJs Ray Rhodes (of Tigerheat) & SRO.

“This is one of the funnest theme park events of the year and we almost always sell out their tickets,” Gilberg said.
