A pair of identical twins, Valerie and Diane Blackler, truly lived and died together in an eerie case that has confused the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) after the discovery of the women’s bodies in Naples, Long Beach.

LBTwinsDeathThe 58-year-old twins were described as reclusive but inseparable by neighbors. Both nurses, they carpooled together, worked together, and lived together at their two-story home along the 100 block of Syracuse walk.

The bodies were discovered this past Sunday in the early evening, after neighbors had noticed that lights had been on around the clock, while the mail carrier had stopped delivering due to the pile up left outside, according to the Los Angeles Times. The women could have been dead for nearly two weeks.

Valerie Blackler had hanged herself, according to coroner’s Assistant Chief Ed Winter, while Diane’s cause of death has yet to be determined. Nancy Pratt of the LBPD said there was no sign of foul play in the two-story home and no indication anyone else was involved.
