2:00pm | Beachgoers can now check the latest water quality grades at over 650 West Coast beaches via Heal the Bay’s Beach Report Card mobile app for the iPhone or Android, available at www.beachreportcard.org.
The new, free Beach Report Card app provides the only access anytime and anywhere to a comprehensive, weekly analysis of coastline water quality. The mobile app delivers A through F grades, weather conditions and user tips throughout beach locations in California, Oregon and Washington.
In addition to discovering which beaches are safe or unsafe, beachgoers can look up and save their favorite local beaches, as well as learn details on beach closures.
Long Beach Public Library (LBPL) is officially launching a free mobile app that makes it easy to search the library’s collections, manage your account, and discover new materials.
Users can:
- Search the library catalog by typing just the first few letters of any keyword
- See where library materials are available, and place and manage holds
- Connect with a librarian on Facebook, Twitter, email or phone
- Discover something new with lists from New Audiobooks to Staff Picks
- Map the route to the closest neighborhood library
- Get Reading Recommendations for grade level titles and browse Award Winners
- The LBPL Mobile app is available for free and is compatible with most smartphones. Search for “LBPL Mobile” in iTunes or the Android Marketplace.
