Gulfstream announced it received approval from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to perform increased levels of service and maintenance on its Gulfstream G150 aircraft at the Long Beach Airport. Gulfstream’s operation in Long Beach started in 1986.

The approval for increased level of services strengthens the facilities comprehensive service capabilities which now includes the ability to service all of the company’s business jets.

IStockAnalysis.com reported here in March 2009 that “sagging sales of Gulfstream’s business jets prompted General Dynamics, parent company of the…aircraft manufacturer, to announce last week that it would cut production and…lay off 1,200 workers company-wide.”

“Being able to service the entire Gulfstream fleet at Long Beach is very significant,” said Mark Burns, president, Product Support, Gulfstream in a released statement. “It is an important geographic location for our operators, and we are pleased to continue to enhance our customer service capabilities.”
