11:00pm | Officers shot and injured an armed robbery suspect after a freeway pursuit that began in the city of Redlands and ended in the downtown Long Beach neighborhood of Shoreline Village.

The suspect, a 22-year old Rialto resident, sustained multiple injuries and remains in stable condition in a local hospital. Police recovered a gun at the scene.

The televised pursuit led California Highway Patrol officers along the 91, 605 and 405 freeways before the suspect exited in Long Beach and the CHP handed the pursuit over to the LBPD near 4th & Cherry. The suspect continued south until reaching a dead end at Linden & Shoreline Village. Officers surrounded his vehicle and a standoff ensued, ending in gunshots.

No officers were injured. The Long Beach Police Department and Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office are conducting separate investigations into the incident, which LBPD spokesperson Lisa Massacani says is routine for all officer-involved shootings.
