A firefighter was injured Thursday morning while battling a blaze in West Long Beach’s Windward Village Mobile Home Park, fire officials say.
Firefighters arrived at the scene on the 3500 block of Santa Fe Avenue around 9 a.m. and reported a fire outside that had spread to a nearby mobile home, LBFD Capt. Jack Crabtree said. Within minutes of arriving, LBFD personnel extinguished the fire and rescued two pets that were inside the home, fire officials said.

The residents that were home at the time escaped without injury. However, one firefighter suffered minor injuries during the incident and had to be taken to a local hospital for treatment, Crabtree said.
An investigator is at the scene to determine the cause of the fire.
