6:00am | St. Anthony College Preparatory High School this week reports that 100% of its new graduates are headed to college next fall. Commencement ceremonies held in the high school’s gymnasium Saturday, June 5th, honored 66 graduating seniors. Valedictorians Breana Panaguiton (University of California, Irvine) and Tian Walker, (California State University, Long Beach), and  Salutatorian D’Ante Brown (University of California, Los Angeles), gave addresses to the overflow crowd in attendance. Walking with the seniors were members of St. Anthony’s Class of 1960 as they celebrated their 50th Golden Reunion.

St. Anthony is celebrating its 90th Anniversary this year and has experienced tremendous success in the past few years with its strong college preparatory program. The high school’s renewed focus on preparing every student for success in college has attracted a team of highly qualified professional teachers and college counselors, increased enrollment and the continued support of an extensive alumni network spanning the decades.

According to the school’s President Gina Maguire, “Students at St. Anthony’s experience a classic Catholic high school with personalized support to help them achieve their goals. Our students come from all of Long Beach’s neighborhoods and beyond, and on campus we form a tightly-knit community of friends that become extended family. Because St. Anthony’s program balances study and learning with sports and service, we have attracted some of the best teachers around. All these ingredients result in the unique college preparatory powerhouse that St. Anthony’s is today.  We are ready to welcome the future.”
