10:45am | As emergency work to repair the sewer infrastructure located along Ocean Boulevard between Elm Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard begins today, drivers should expect some lane closures and delays. The emergency repair project is expected to be complete by April 5th.

Drivers traveling westbound on Ocean Boulevard should expect some delays as multiple lanes will be closed, with only one lane open during construction hours. During non-construction hours (7:00pm-7:00am daily), two lanes of westbound traffic are expected to be open.

The following traffic impacts are expected during the project:

Westbound Traffic on Ocean Boulevard between Elm Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard

  • Both inside lanes will be permanently closed for the duration of the project
  • During construction hours, only one lane will be open to traffic
  • During non construction hours, two lanes will be open to traffic
  • Access to the Westin Hotel from Ocean Boulevard will remain open

Eastbound Traffic on Ocean Boulevard between Elm Avenue and Long Beach Boulevard

  • No lane closures are expected, except for the left-hand turn lane onto Northbound Elm Avenue, which will be closed for the duration of the project
  • Left-hand turn lane from Westbound Ocean Boulevard onto Southbound Elm Avenue
  • This lane will be closed for the duration of the project
