10:15am | Harkening back to the days of drive-in movies, the recent blockbuster movie “Avatar” will be shown at the archery range at El Dorado Park East this Friday at 7:00pm.
Bring a blanket and drive on in! Cars will be charged $5 each, which includes the price of the movie and an order of popcorn. The archery range is located off Spring Street in east Long Beach.
The event is the first in a series of fun summer events for the public, sponsored by Long Beach Parks & Recreation and the Convention & Visitors Bureau. The website 100daysofsummer.org has been set up but is still under construction, although it does indicated that over 800 events are planned between May 31 and September 6. You can sign up for e-mail alerts on the website to stay updated.
Councilmember Gerrie Schipske has been sending out updates on the event through her e-mail system. The event takes place in her 5th District.
