A man was shot and killed in the Willmore neighborhood Sunday morning.

The victim was working on his car when he was gunned down, according to a man who identified himself as a relative of the victim but declined to give his name.

Neighbors said they heard shots ring out just before 10 a.m. on Daisy Avenue between Ninth and 10th streets.

Police said the man was shot multiple times. When officers arrived, they gave him first aid, and paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where he died, according to the LBPD.

Authorities did not publicly identify the victim, but multiple neighbors said he often worked on cars in front of his apartment and was always happy and willing to lend out tools to others in the neighborhood.

Detectives are at the scene and the investigation is ongoing. No information on a suspect or motive was immediately available.
