Police are investigating a shooting that took place in downtown Long Beach early Wednesday morning but left no injuries, authorities said.

Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Maine Avenue, near Cesar Chavez Park, at 3:40AM on Wednesday, April 27 regarding a shots heard call, according to Marlene Arrona of the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD).

Arriving officers found evidence of a shooting but no property damage or injured parties were located, she added.

The investigation remains ongoing.
